Pay: $19.00-24.00 DOE – Paid TrainingAs a Registered Behavior Technician at Applied Behavior Autism Center (ABAC), you are more than a key player; you are a cornerstone in the delivery of our mission – to provide individualized, evidence-based ABA therapy that caters to the unique needs of each of our clients.   • Work directly with clients to implement evidence-based behavioral treatment plans designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), promoting skill acquisition and reducing problematic behavior.
  • Use observational skills to collect precise data on client skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals during each session, contributing to the tracking of clients’ progress and the refinement of their therapy.
  • Maintain meticulous client data records by regularly updating the program checklist and completing session notes, ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of therapy.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the overseeing clinical supervisor. Be their partner in this journey, providing feedback and educational resources to help them support therapy outside our center.
  • Keep the clinical team informed regarding client changes, progress, and concerns, fostering a unified approach to each client’s therapy.
  • Utilize safe and appropriate behavior modification strategies as outlined in the client’s Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP), providing consistent and effective interventions.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on client and company needs, making each day a new opportunity to make a difference.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding attention to detail with a consistent track record of maintaining high levels of accuracy in data collection and client record management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and the clinical team.
  • Proven ability to follow complex client programs accurately and consistently, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an inherent ability to develop effective relationships and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Prior experience in ABA, psychology, child development, or related fields is highly valued, though not a prerequisite.
  • Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week, 3 days per week (Mon-Fri).
  • A successful criminal background check is required prior to employment.
  • A high school diploma or a GED

Technical Skills:

  • Applied Behavior Analysis Knowledge: Understanding of ABA principles and techniques and the ability to apply them in therapy sessions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Skill in accurately collecting, recording, and analyzing behavioral data. This involves using technology tools as required and understanding how to interpret and use the data to inform therapy.
  • Experience with Special Needs Individuals: Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other related conditions would be beneficial.
  • Behavior Management Techniques: Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies, as well as an understanding of how to adapt these techniques to each individual’s needs.
  • Crisis Management: Skills in deescalating challenging behaviors and situations in a calm and effective manner.
  • Policy and Protocol Compliance: Understanding of and ability to adhere to therapy protocols and all relevant policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with clients, their families, and the therapy team. This also includes the ability to explain complex ideas in an accessible manner.
  • Patience: The capacity to remain patient and focused, even in challenging situations. This is essential for maintaining a supportive environment for clients.
  • Empathy: An ability to empathize with clients and their families, understanding their perspectives, and responding to their needs with compassion.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise in the implementation of behavior plans and find effective solutions.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the needs of individual clients, including adjusting schedules and therapy methods as required.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other technicians and the BCBA to provide the best possible service to clients.
  • Motivation and Enthusiasm: Displaying a high level of energy and enthusiasm can be contagious, especially in a therapeutic setting. The ability to maintain motivation and positivity can greatly influence the client’s engagement and progress

Physical Demands: Navigating the Everyday Challenges In the dynamic environment of ABA therapy, our Student Analyst role requires both mental agility and physical adaptability. Here are some of the physical demands you may encounter:

  • Touch and Control: Using hands to manipulate, control, or feel objects and tools, a vital part of working with various therapeutic materials.
  • Posture Flexibility: Whether standing or sitting for extended periods, kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling, your body must be ready to adapt to the needs of our clients.
  • Mobility and Strength: Bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching out, along with lifting objects up to 50 pounds, are part of our daily dance in providing quality care.
  • Repetitive Actions: Certain therapeutic exercises may require you to repeat the same movements, demanding both patience and endurance.
  • Visual Acuity: Seeing details of objects that are close by, making precise adjustments to objects, and recognizing differences between colors, shades, and brightness are essential skills in our interactive environment.
  • Adaptive Movement: Running, jumping, skipping – our work often mimics play, and your ability to engage in these movements will bring joy and progress to our clients.
  • Compliance with Plans: Being able to meet physical requirements based on specific behavioral intervention plans, ensuring alignment with individualized therapeutic goals.
